What Beauty Bloggers are Saying...

"Overall, L’Oreal Color Caresse Shine Stains are a great product all around. If you liked YSL’s version it’s a given you’ll like L’Oreal version because the products are identical formulations. The lighter shades will prove disappointing as they lack pigment and won’t work on pigmented lips. The drier texture and wear won’t be loved by all especially those prone to chapped or dry lips however, clear gloss on top might make things a little more bearable." musingsofamuse.com

"These feel exactly like YSL Glossy Stains on my lips, which is a very good thing in my book...The L'Oreal Colour Caresse version appears to be more sheer on average but there are definitely a few exceptions to that...The formulas of both are buildable: you can start with one layer for sheerer coverage, or add a second or third "coat" after letting it dry for a minute or more to increase the color opacity. " If you are a regular reader of this blog you will know that the YSL Glossy Stains are one of my favourite lip products...The formulas are indeed VERY similar. They share the same wet feel on application that sets to a more cushiony feel. They both offer a stain. YSL is part of the L’Oreal group of brands after all. For me the Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stains still hold out as being my product of choice regardless of their more hefty price tag. I find them more true to colour, more pigmented, longer lasting, more staining, and they set better than the L’Oreal version (at least for the shades I have tested).perilouslypale.com

"The L’Oreal Shine Caresse is a lip tint and gloss all in one product. When the gloss have gradually faded, it leaves behind a really nice pinkish tint on the lips. Shine Caresse has slightly a sticky feel to it. Not as much if compared to most lipglosses. Not sure is it really drying out my lips. Because I feel like the gloss creates a film on the lips, that kind of protects your lips. But it doesn’t moisturize it in any way. The stickiness is the reason that helps keeping the gloss in place for several hours."forluminousskin.com

"Some of my favorite lip products of all time are the YSL Glossy Stains, so I was very excited to hear that L'oreal was releasing a new lip product called Shine Caresse, which is very similar to the Glossy Stains. The texture of the two products is also similar - both are very thin and easy to apply, but quickly dry down to a transfer - resistant finish. I find that the Glossy Stain is a bit more tacky feeling as it dries down, but the difference is minimal...Wear time also seems similar between the two products - it varies from about 3 hours with the lighter shades to 5-6 hours with the darker shades, with the stain lasting even longer...As an update: I've now worn the L'oreal Shine Caresse glosses several times, and overall I find that they are a touch more drying, but a touch longer lasting, than the YSL Glossy Stains on me."projectswatch.blogspot.com

"The pigment is perfection...One brush across the lips leaves you with full color payoff. The formula is great, too. Application is smooth and it does leave a glossy finish that lasts a few hours before becoming matte. Unlike a lot of stains out there, this one does not leave my lips feeling the least bit dry and cracked...I have worn these stains to work over the last three days and they do not budge. Whether your are having a relaxing day at home, going out with friends or spending all day at work, rest assured that this lip stain won't move."atlantanbeauty.com
