THINGS TO RAVE ABOUT
  • Natural Looking: "I love the way this mineral veil makes my face look. No matter how much I apply, it does not get cakey at all. It is very translucent and does not turn my skin white like the NYC translucent powder did. I never feel like I am wearing makeup with this."  by prncss
  • No Shimmer: "I do like that it is so finely milled that it leaves a nice finish, and there's no shimmery look that some minerals have." by gabiinchicago
  • Finely Milled: "It's really finely milled which is something you want in a powder as it doesn't tend to clump or cake your foundation as you apply." by muffingrl
  • Included Brush: "I can actually use the little brush it comes with...I usually have to throw those out because they never work." by butterflyaddict
  • Multi-Purpose: "I also like to use a fair amount of this under my eyes before applying darker shadows to prevent fallout as it can be brushed off with ease after." by vivcheung
  • Truly Translucent: "Another great thing about this powder is that it truly is translucent and will not cake-up or tone-down the makeup you've already applied underneath it like other finishing powders can sometimes do."  by ias23

THINGS TO RANT ABOUT
  • Awful Packaging: "As for the packaging, the sifter annoyed me. I couldn't get it off for the life of me, and trying to continually shake shake shake it into a larger container took forever." by helloredpanda
  • Emphasizes Fine Lines: "However, this stuff was like a line maximizer on my face. I'm only 23, but this stuff had me looking like I was 40 with only a light layer on. It crowded into every tiny line on my face and I didn't think it had terribly even coverage, either." by juliast27
  • Doesn't Control Oil: "The finish is matte, but it doesn't control oil or keep a finished appearance up for very long."  by Niki1659

    IS IT FOR YOU?

YES: "If you want a light, hardly noticeable, and translucent powder to add a finishing, natural touch to your makeup look." by rose120
NO: "If your skin requires serious concealing, coverage, and oil control from your powder." by amartew

    1. I love finishing powder - I'd be lost without it - and my Maybelline powder, though not my favourite one, is constantly in use.

    11. I tried this a little while ago and I really didn't like it. The brush was very scratchy. However, I mostly didn't like it because I got the wrong colour. It was really hard to tell in the packages and I bought what appeared to be my normal colour (i'm normally a beige or a variation of beige in most brands) but it was so much darker on my face.

    17. Wow, this blog is great! I love the variety of insights you put into your product reviews. I'm following now!

I must say that I have tried this finishing powder and I am not a huge fan of it. I thought the coverage was extremely poor and within a hour of putting it on, it looked like it was gone. Although I do use other Maybelline products daily, this is one of them that I tried a couple times and I believe is still at the bottom of my makeup drawer unused.
