What Beauty Bloggers are Saying...
"The pencils are easy to use on the go and travel very friendly-like for touch ups. They offer sheer to medium color pay off depending how much you apply with a balm-y texture that isn't as dry as Revlon’s Kissable Balm Stain and not as moisturizing as Tarte’s LipSurgence or Clinique Chubby Balm. The balm-like texture is a little heavier on my lips and does accentuate dryness and flaky areas...I didn't love the texture on my lips to be honest, they felt a little too heavy and they looked less than smooth. Plus they had no real shine or glossiness to them which was disappointing. " musingsofamuse.com

"Texture-wise... they're a little less moisture packed than Tarte Lipsurgence or Revlon's lip butters, but seem to have a little more moisture than Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. These Cover Girl jumbo pencils don't seem to last quite as long on my lips as the Balm Stains do. Similar to most jumbo pencils these days, you don't sharpen them, but instead twist the bottom to get more product. " beautybroadcast.net

"The colour is indeed on the sheer side - it's kind of like 40% lip balm, 25% lipstick, and 25% lip gloss, if you get what I mean. It's moisturizing on the lips, but it looks even better with an actual lip balm as the base layer first...The colour payoff is not the strongest amongst other similar lip products, Revlon's JustBitten Kissable Balm Stain is indeed the stronger contender in this department. CG Gloss Sticks are also NOT a stain, therefore it doesn't leave any lasting colour behind after it fades. This may be preferable to those who loves to change lip colours several times a day, and likewise not as desirable to those who enjoy minimal reapplication of lip products through the course of a day. The shine that it gives is quite noticeable upon initial application on the lips, bit wears off relatively soon. However, the colour definitely lingers longer."prescriptionforpretty.blogspot.com

"The formula is very comparable to the Clinique Chubby Sticks. In fact, it’s the most comparable to them that I’ve ever found, and you know how much I love to buy lip products. It’s got pretty sheer color, but can be built up. They are relatively moisturizing as well. I wouldn’t use these as a lip treatment, but you can wear them on their own without a lip balm on top or underneath and not feel like your lips are just going to chap and flake right off. A little word of advice though. Just like the Chubby Sticks, these are better used when they are a little warm."donnadoesrevies.wordpress.com

"If you're expecting good color payoff, you'll be disappointed. It's sheer, very sheer. You really must go over and over and over again to get any color on your lips. Finally, if you're expecting a glossy color, again, you'll be disappointed. It is not glossy at all. It's got "Balm" in the name. Huh? No balm feel at all. It's actually almost kind of dry. Not at all what I was expecting. The feel is almost sticky and the color disappears rather quickly. No color payoff with this shade."icarias.blogspot.com
