MakeupAlley Review: Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

Things to Rave About:

  • Illuminating Effect: "It's pretty illuminating, so it brightens up my face in ways other concealers never have." by melangerehab
  • Dupe For YSL Touche Eclet: "I've used YSL's Touche Eclat in the past and this does a much better job for a fraction of the price. Like Touche Eclat, this is also in click pen form which I don't mind." by pcm52311
  • Long Lasting: "It sets fairly dry to the touch without any real tackiness or transfer to my fingers without powdering. I've been wearing it for full days and it might fade a bit (without setting with powder) but at the end of the day it's easy to see the difference between a covered eye and an uncovered eye post-removal." by heathermrm
  • No Glitter: "Lumi is a winner because instead of using glitter to glow like many drugstore brands do, it is simply just a brightening illuminator. No chunks of glitter, no tacky metallic effect." by ChocolatCake
  • Eyeshadow Primer Capability:  "I found that it makes a great eyeliner/eyeshadow primer, so that is a plus!!" by Erin14

Things to Rant About:

  • Bad Packaging: "Dream Lumi comes in a click pen like YSL. This is one of the biggest downfalls of the product. I decanted it (into an air-tight sample jar from Sephora) after a few days of use and I am already seeing that I use less and get better results (less dry/cakey looking). The pen has a soft brush applicator used to blend/apply the concealer; it is of nice quality and does the job well, but it will collect concealer over time which will consequently result in a drier concealer application (new concealer combining with old dried-out concealer)." by ashleyanders
  • Little Coverage: "This concealer is good for the under eye area but it may not actually do the job for individuals with really dark under eye issues." by panhiax2010
  • Orange-Tone Color Selection: "The store had a tester and the lightest shade Ivory looked okay for me in the store, but when I tried it at home, it was totally too dark for me.It looked almost orange. I had to take it off, because my under eyes looked yellowy orange, like I had a liver disease. I can't believe Maybelline doesn't know how to make lighter color concealers or foundations. This wasn't the first time when the lightest shade of Maybelline concealer or foundation turns out to be too dark and orange. They must be obsessed with orange at Maybelline." by TheUnforgiven

  2. Polymers in the cleaning product used in this process encapsulate or "crystalise" dirt particles into dry residue after which
will be removed at the end of the process. The attachments and unique design of
the Bissell let you keep your home free of allergens and pet hair.
